Many of us carry trauma in our bodies without even realizing it. Like all mammals, humans have a natural stress response—fight, flight, or freeze—that can become stuck when not fully discharged. Over time, this unresolved energy can manifest as anxiety, depression, lethargy, PTSD, disassociation, addictions, hyper-vigilance, and more.
Through conscious breathwork combined with a somatic approach, we learn that it’s safe to befriend these trapped energies and let them go. This gentle, mindful process provides a long-term toolkit for releasing trauma and restoring balance in body, mind, and spirit.
Somatic Breathwork is quite different from other forms of recreational group breathwork as there is movement of the body a somatic approach with TRE exercise and can only be done carefully as an individual 1:1 session with a trained facilitator. This is where real healing begins. This is about bring a safety and regulation in the nervous system. It is quite a gentle awareness where activation then pendulation occurs placing the system into its recognised “felt sense” to reprogram the effects of trauma and to release slowly.
Trauma results from any event that overwhelms a person’s capacity to cope. The common ingredient is helplessness. When our capacity to defend ourselves by running, fighting, or freezing is not successful the unreleased survival energies stay stuck in our nervous system. We stay in survival mode and we develop symptoms of trauma. If we do not release this energy from our nervous system where it is stuck, we develop anxiety and panic and other psychosomatic and behavioral problems. The light and joy seems to go out of our life. When we discharge trauma, we invite light and joy back in and open the door to our own inner healer. Our natural state of love and harmony returns.
Techniques Used In Breathwork
My Breathwork style is a continuous conscious circular breath with deep somatic myofascial trauma release (body dearmouring) using specific trigger point on the meridians through deep Myofascial bodywork that can go deeper to release emotions from the body when the nervous system can be reset to a more balanced state.
Even though Breathwork can be experienced as a one off introductory session it is designed as an integrated series of sessions to deactivate, heal, open, energise, and balance your whole being. Deep connected breathing, bodywork, movement, felt sense and meditation supports your body’s natural process of healing. In a safe environment the combination of these techniques lead to regulate the nervous system and releases long held tension and trauma from the body and mind. Healing opens the door to living a healthy and empowered life.

Through somatic therapy and breathwork, we gently reset the nervous system, release stored survival energy, and create resource, containment, and regulation within the body. This allows pressure and tension to unwind safely and gradually.
The Process
Breathwork sessions include deep somatic myofascial unwinding and dearmouring across the 7 Belts of Tension In the body. From the head, eyes, jaw, throat, heart, stomach and pelvis.
These sessions consists of 6 major elements of healing:
Trauma Release Bodywork and somatic therapy is about finding a sense or resource and containment in the body. To regulate an dysregulated nervous system to creat a sense of coming home back into the body. not only my clients often cry, get angry or giggle during the sessions releasing freeing pathways for the energy to flow uninhibitedly. You can achieve a lot through mental and emotional work, change beliefs and bad habits, improve a lot in your life, yet some memories and beliefs may still remain in the body and can therefore only be released through the body.

For those with severe PTS or anxiety panic attacks, I will start off with a far gentler approach to the basics of breathwork, meditation and embodiment exercises to calm and regulate the nervous system. Think of it like a pressure cooker, I will ever so gently start to release the pressure built up and reset the flight or fight response nervous system to a more calm and balanced state.
